Our community is being torn apart by our housing crisis.
In an effort to bring stability and security to our seniors, students, working families, veterans, disabled and low-income residents, our City Council passed an ordinance to protect renters from predatory landlords seeking to profit from skyrocketing rents.
Then corporate out-of-town interests went on the attack – paying signature gatherers, who used deceptive tactics, to qualify a referendum to block the ordinance.
Now, these same big money players have dumped over $440,000 to try to defeat rent control and just cause evictions in Santa Rosa.
We don’t need to match them dollar for dollar, but we do need enough to run our grassroots campaign to get our message out.
This is about who we are as a community. This is about our values, and our future. We know that our destinies are intertwined, that we all thrive when each of us thrives.
We invite you to celebrate the diversity that makes our community so special, and join us under one roof to keep it that way.
